Goro and Tattaka, Print by Maho Satoh-Britt

Can you imagine a cuter pair of hedgehog brothers? Goro rolls himself into a ball like a baby fern and Tattaka rolls him down a gentle hill. Their names are Japanese onomatopoeia, words that imitate the sounds they make as they play. Goro goes goro-goro-goro-go-ro-go-ro (rolling-rolling-rolling-ro-ro-ro) while Tattaka runs behind him tattaka-tattaka-tattaka-ta-ta-ta (running-running-running-run-run-run).

A word to the adults:

Were pleased to offer a new set of prints by Japanese artist Maho Satoh-Britt. Maho has recently set off on a grand adventure, relocating from her home in Tokyo to Sacramento, California. While familiarizing herself with new surroundings and tackling the idiosyncracies of English she continues to create work that requires no translation. We love Mahos approach to flora, fauna and language in this three color wood cut print on cotton. Each print is signed and numbered in the lower left corner and arrives ready to frame.
