Hyacinth, A Mimi Kirchner Doll |
”The earth laughs in flowers.” E. E. Cummings
A word to the adults:
In the fall of 2005 during the process of clearing out her parent’s house, Mimi Kirchner found herself surrounded by more than 50 years worth of sewing fabrics and notions amassed by her mother. Inspired by this wealth of materials, Mimi began experimenting with designing dolls and creating them from her own patterns. Today this Massachusetts doll artist has a considerable following for her beautifully crafted and meticulously detailed dolls. Mimi has graciously created a series of original dolls especially for Mahar Drygoods.
Hyacinth has been crafted from recycled wool fabrics, dressed in a heathered dark purple body suit with an embroidered neckline and a removable bright floral cotton skirt with rick rack trim. Her facial features are entirely embroidered by hand and her dark blonde hair is set with two coordinating fabric bows. This lovely little girl’s legs are fully articulated allowing her to sit up beautifully. She will arrived with additional information on the artist and care details.
