Fox & Goose Travel Through the Wood

While there are several different games named after our friends the Fox and the Goose, our favorite is played with at least three of your friends in freshly fallen winter snow. Trample a large circle in the snow containing two intersecting paths, like a large ‘X’. And then stomp out a small safe zone in the center of the circle where the paths cross. Choose one person to be the fox, all other players are geese. The fox chases the geese and tries to tag one of them. All players must run only on the paths, and geese can't be tagged when they're standing in the safe zone. As soon as the fox catches a goose, that goose becomes another fox. The winner is the last remaining goose!
