YoYo Ornaments Kit

If you had been born fifty years ago, you would most likely be familiar with crafts created from fabric 'yoyos'. We're excited to offer adults and older kids an opportunity to revive this vintage craft. Our new kit that arrives with everything except a needle and thread - making it easy for you to create three thoughtful handmade ornaments for your holiday tree!

Designer Jenny Krauss has taken this classic quilter’s craft and updated it with modern sensibilities to create charming holiday ornaments! Popularized in the 1930s and 40s, yoyos’ are small fabric rosettes sewn from quilting scraps (along with a ‘want-not, waste-not’ attitude) and used to create all manner of crafts including coverlettes, children’s dresses and dolls. Yoyo crafts are simple to make but quite time consuming so Jenny and the Bolivian artisans she works with have done most of the work for you. Each kit includes pre-cut fabric, buttons and cord for the hanging loops so all you have to do is sew up each circle and assemble using the easy to follow instructions. Our Yoyo Ornaments Kit allows you to create three ornaments in three styles: a snowflake, a wreath and flower.

This project is best suited to kids ages 8+ with basic sewing skills and an adult helper for occasional guidance, but is also a great way for adults to create a handmade holiday gift. Packaged in a reusable drawstring bag. Fabrics may vary slightly.
