A reindeer and rabbit become fast friends on these festive holiday stockings!
 |
Forest Friends Stocking |
Every December 6th Hungarian children, anticipating a visit from Ol’ Saint Nick’s (or Uncle Mikulás as he’s known in that part of the world), place their empty boots by a window before bedtime. Our traditions are little different here at home where we hang stockings by the chimney with care, all the while dreaming of the same end result – footwear stuffed with candy and gifts. What a wonderful, silly world.
A word to the adults:
Chicago based designer Jen Hopwood of MyPerennial recently spent some time living abroad in beautiful Budapest, Hungary. There she had the good fortune of working with a small cooperative of female artisans specializing in traditional Hungarian felt work known for meticulous detail and stunning results. Pairing Jen’s charming and thoughtful designs with these skilled craftswomen has resulted in a brilliant partnership and our lovely line of holiday stockings. Created from layers of finely appliquéd wool felt, each stocking is generously scaled and ready to hang on your mantle, doorknob, bedpost or chair back. Read the MDG blog profile of Jen Hopwood and learn more about the artist who created this item.
