Amy Kett’s Cranky Pants are wildly popular and production is very limited, which makes for allot of enthusiastic customers waiting in line! Because each and every pair is individually hand knit by Amy, we have an agreement with her to accept orders for a very limited number each month. In the past we have sent out mass emails to the waiting list each time orders were being accepted. This has resulted in shopping cart chaos and many disappointed and unhappy shoppers.

In an attempt to make the process more civil and egalitarian, we are revising the manner in which we handle our waiting list. After the last round of orders were accepted on August 10, 2007 we wiped the list clean and have started afresh. If you would like to be placed on our new waiting list, please visit the page of the Cranky Pants style you’re interested in and click on the red ‘request re-stock’ notice. When the next round of Cranky Pants becomes available rather than send a mass email to everyone on the list, we will individually contact customers on the list in the order in which they joined the list. Leaving a comment on this blog post will not put you on the waiting list.

We know waiting can be enough to make even the sweetest kid cranky! In order to meet the demand, Amy is actively exploring means to crank up production without resorting to mass foreign manufacturing. She is extremely dedicated to finding means to continue delivering a product that is skillfully hand knit with as much love as she needles into every pair she makes herself. And of course we LOVE this attitude and fully support her endeavor. However development process can be slow and we implore your patience. A million thank yous for your kind support and patience. We’ve been receiving numerous emails with questions regarding the waiting list. Following are the most frequently asked along with our attempt at answers.

1. Can I buy more than one pair with my spot on the list and if so how many maximum can I buy?
In order to work our way through the waiting list as quickly as possible, we need to limit each customer to one pair.

2. Can I only buy monkey longies with my spot on the monkey list, etc?
When you’re contacted and informed that you’re next on the list you may order any style you wish. An equal number of customers from each list (monster, monkey and jolly roger) will be contacted each month.

3. How do I keep track of my spot on the list?
To protect the privacy of our customers we will not make the waiting list public. We know how anxious you are to purchase a pair of Cranky Pants and are also sadly aware that your little one may outgrow them before you’re even able to order. We’re doing our very best to manage demand in a fair manner, but apologize in advance that we are unable to respond to the many emails requesting information on waiting list status.
